Who Should Attend: FERS employees with 5-15 years of service

Course Length: Two days or approximately 12-13 hours of instruction time

What You'll Learn: In today’s ever-changing environment, it is crucial to begin planning for retirement early. This mid-career course highlights the benefits available within the Federal service and explores options to maximize them. All aspects of employee benefit programs will be examined and participants will learn a common-sense approach to financial planning; one that helps them to become wise consumers. The class includes a detailed look at the TSP and Long-Term care options. Some aspects of Federal service to be discussed include what benefits employees would retain upon leaving the Government before retirement, what benefits are available to family members if an employee dies before retirement, and how a break in Federal Service affects future benefits.
